German builder unveils wood barrel camper on Unimog chassis

German expedition vehicle builder 4Wheel24 presented a unique motorhome at the CMT show in Stuttgart, based on a 1994 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U418. The living module is shaped like a wooden barrel made of spruce and features an electric pop-up roof system from Autohome. The interior includes a double bed, a kitchen with a diesel cooktop, a toilet, and a shower, powered by a 6.3-kWh lithium battery system. The package was priced at €189,000.

VW California Prototype Hides Updates Ahead of Facelift

Volkswagen is preparing an updated version of the California camper van. The prototype, spotted during winter testing in Europe, will feature revised lighting, a new MIB4 infotainment system with ChatGPT, and will comply with Euro 7 standards from November 2026.
