Humvee-based RV conversion for full-time off-grid living

Honda has unveiled a prototype for its lightweight Base Station travel trailer, designed to be towed by compact SUVs and electric vehicles. The target dry weight is under 635 kg (1,400 lbs), and the design features a modular external kitchen, an outdoor shower, and integrated solar panels. The prototype can sleep up to four people and offers a standing height of 2.13 meters when the pop-up roof is raised.

RV Land will unveil a special edition of the Lino Premium camper van featuring a sofa from the brand blocco. The Lino Premium blocco Edition will debut at the Japan Camping Car Show 2026 at Makuhari Messe from January 30 to February 2. The camper van is based on the Toyota HiAce Super Long and is designed for comfortable travel for two adults.

In Seoul's Daechi-dong district, a hub for private tutoring, parents are using motorhomes parked on streets as rest areas for their children between classes. The vehicles are equipped with beds and kitchens, allowing children to nap and parents to cook meals. Some parents view this as cost-effective compared to renting nearby studio apartments, which can cost up to 2.6 million won per month during peak season, even factoring in parking fines.
