New Groenberg Weekend rooftop tent weighs only 18 kg

An 85-year-old man on the island of Bornholm will face trial after contesting a fine for illegally driving a motorhome in a protected natural area near Hammershus castle. The incident occurred on June 12th when he drove the vehicle in an area where only foot and bicycle traffic is permitted. Police issued a fine of 5000 Danish kroner for violating the nature protection law.

Denmark enforces specific speed limits and parking rules for motorhomes. The speed on motorways depends on the vehicle's weight: up to 3.5 tons — 130 km/h, from 3.5 to 7.5 tons — 80 km/h. Overnight stays in a motorhome are only permitted on designated private sites, while wild camping in public areas is prohibited.

Denmark is known as an expensive holiday destination. A presenter tested this by taking a five-day trip in an electric campervan, checking campsite costs and the availability of charging infrastructure.
