Donegal County Council has outlined its tourism priorities for 2026, focusing on leveraging the upcoming TBEX conference and its Lonely Planet recognition. The council's budget allocates continued support for the camping and campervan sector, including facility upgrades and signage, and designates nearly €50,000 for festival funding. It also commits €50,000 to support regional airports and plans targeted digital marketing to promote the county.

A planning application has been submitted for a new 10-pitch campervan park on the outskirts of Naran, County Donegal. The proposed facility would include parking bays, a service building with showers and toilets, and landscaped areas. The aim is to accommodate an estimated 35 visitors at capacity and reduce campervan congestion along the Naran beachfront. A decision on the application is expected in February 2026.

Waterford City and County Council has prohibited campervans from parking at Kilmurrin Cove, a popular coastal tourism spot. The ban follows a local councillor's appeal for improved tourist facilities, citing the area as a 'victim of its own success.' Signs have been erected along the seafront to enforce the prohibition.
