The German Liquefied Gas Association has issued safety guidelines for gas appliances in motorhomes and caravans during winter camping. Experts recommend using heating while driving only if crash sensors and hose rupture safety devices are installed, monitoring gas consumption, and ensuring roof vents are not blocked by snow. Mandatory biennial inspections for gas systems in recreational vehicles have been in effect since 2025.
