Weihang T6 motorhome to debut at Chengdu RV show in March

The Chinese motorhome manufacturer Xinji Ao RV has announced changes to its executive team. Liu Tao resigned as Executive Director and CFO on January 3 to focus on the group's strategic work and was appointed Chief Strategy Officer. The board named Zhu Jihao as the new Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.

Chinese manufacturer HEMU has launched the updated Ax5, a compact Class A motorhome. The 5995 mm long vehicle is built on an Iveco Daily chassis with a 3.0T engine and 8-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include an electric lift bed, kitchen, bathroom, and a 10 kWh power reserve. The model is priced at 518,000 yuan.

Authorities in Simao District, Yunnan Province, are implementing a program to develop motorhome infrastructure. The project has identified 48 potential campsite plots totaling over 76 hectares. The first two campsites with 200 spaces are scheduled to open in early 2024.

The company has expanded its product line from travel trailers to motorhomes and entered markets in the Middle East and Canada, aiming to adapt its offerings to different regions.

Motorhome owners, primarily retirees from northern Chinese provinces, are wintering in Xiamen due to its mild climate. They park at city park lots, such as Bailuzhou and Songyang. Travelers cite convenient public transport and safety, but note a lack of dedicated campgrounds with water and electricity hookups.
