How the 90 days per year rule works
From 2025, foreigners from visa-free countries can stay in Russia for up to 90 days total within one calendar year (January 1 to December 31).
Entry and exit days count as full days of stay. Days are summed across all trips in the year.
The limit resets completely on January 1st each year. Unused days do not carry over to the next year.
Citizens of EAEU countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan) have no stay limits and can work without a patent.

Consequences of overstaying
Overstaying results in fines from 2000 to 7000 rubles, deportation, and entry ban to Russia. Overstaying more than 180 days results in a 10-year ban.
