How to Homologate Your Motorhome and Hit the Road in Argentina

In Argentina, all motorhomes and towed caravans must be officially homologated to travel on public roads. The process requires two key licenses: the Model Configuration License (LCM) from the Ministry of Economy and the Environmental Configuration License (LCA) from the Secretariat of Tourism, Environment and Sports. For self-built or small-scale manufactured vehicles, owners must obtain a Vehicle Safety Certificate (CSV), with the controlling authority depending on whether the vehicle's weight is under or over 750 kilograms.

F1 drivers use custom motorhomes as mobile homes and operational bases during European Grand Prix weekends. Max Verstappen's 2024 unit includes a high-end simulator for training, while Nico Hülkenberg used a Mercedes-Benz Actros-based Krismar motorhome with a hybrid system at the 2025 Silverstone GP. Lewis Hamilton employs a private motorhome for testing with Ferrari, continuing a trend of personalized driver facilities that Nico Rosberg helped popularize.

A Neuquén native and his Rosario girlfriend built a 20 m² tiny house themselves

A couple constructed a 20 m² tiny house on a trailer in Rosario after being inspired by numerous motorhomes and caravans seen during a camping trip in Patagonia. The project, built using wood frame construction, cost approximately $11,560, or $480 per square meter, saving on labor costs. They had no prior construction experience, starting the project by first buying a hammer.
