Chemical engineer quits job to travel Argentina in a motorhome

A new campsite, Camping & Motorhome 259, has opened on Route RN 259 near Trevelin, Argentina, targeting motorhome and camping travelers. The facility provides electricity, water hookups, waste disposal, Wi-Fi, and 24-hour security. It is also listed on the iOverlander app, making it accessible to international travelers.

The resort town of Playas Doradas has established a curfew for large vehicles, including motorhomes. Free circulation is permitted until 10:30 PM, after which vehicles must move to designated parking areas or authorized campgrounds. The restriction is based on Municipal Ordinance No. 697/08 and aims to regulate nighttime traffic in central zones.

A former firefighter working at a gas station extinguished a starting fire in a motorhome on a highway in Argentina. The incident occurred on National Route 228 when a family noticed flames under the dashboard. The man used a fire extinguisher and his professional skills to prevent the fire from completely destroying the vehicle.

A motorhome became stuck on a section of Argentina's National Route 40, known as the '73 Cursed'. Provincial road services used a motor grader to rescue the vehicle and restore the road. The stretch between Tres Lagos and Gobernador Gregores was closed to all traffic due to water and mud accumulation following heavy rains.

The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon at kilometer 685 of Route 51 near Bahía Blanca. A motorhome being towed by a Toyota Hilux detached, crossed into the oncoming lane, and collided head-on with a Mercedes truck. The truck driver was injured, and traffic was disrupted for approximately one hour.

The Argentine company AbrigA produces thermoacoustic insulation mats from coarse sheep wool, previously considered waste. The 50 mm thick mats are used in house and hotel construction, as well as for insulating motorhomes. According to the company, producing this material requires 8 times less energy than manufacturing fiberglass insulation.
