Dacia Bigster converted into a camper van for 30,000 euros

Authorities on Ibiza are intensifying crackdowns on illegally parked motorhomes. The fine for three nights of parking on unauthorized land is 20,000 euros.

A new portable solar generator has been introduced to the market, designed for use in camper vans and motorhomes. The device comes with solar panels and is positioned as an affordable solution for off-grid power supply during travels.

The Council of Ibiza opened sanctioning proceedings in 2025 against six motorhome drivers for breaching local regulations. Fines can reach up to €30,000. Four new infraction proposals have already been recorded in 2026.

Authorities in Andalusia and the Nijar municipality conducted an operation against illegal camping in the Cabo de Gata-Nijar natural park in Almeria. Several motorhomes and caravans were removed from coastal areas where traffic had become too heavy. Parking areas at El Playazo and Isleta del Moro beaches are temporarily closed to regulate the use of the area.

A couple has spent four years living full-time in a camper van while traveling across Spain. They report using only two butane gas bottles per year for their energy needs, highlighting an extreme example of minimalist mobile living.

Authorities in the Cabo de Gata–Níjar Natural Park in Andalusia have tightened controls on motorhomes and camper vans. Environmental agents have evicted vehicles parked illegally in sensitive coastal areas and temporarily closed some parking zones due to saturation. Fines for breaching environmental regulations can exceed 200 euros.
