Kia unveils silent electric camper van PV5 Light Camper

The Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campsite in Bonghwa County will open on April 1. Reservations will be accepted from March 1 via a dedicated app and website, with 50% of spots prioritized for residents of Suwon and Bonghwa. The site features 12 auto-camping pitches, 11 caravans, and 7 glamping units.

A new auto camping site has opened in Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. The site is located at the foot of Sobaeksan Mountain and offers pitches for motorhomes and camper vans. The facility is marketed as a nature retreat.

A fire broke out in a motorhome parked on a vacant lot in Gyeongju. A 60-year-old man suffered second-degree burns while attempting to extinguish the flames. Fire authorities suspect a heater left on inside the vehicle as the possible cause.

Kia has introduced a modular kit to convert the PV5 electric vehicle into a camper van. The kit, priced at 2.99 million won (approx. $2000), features a trunk module with bench seats that convert into a bed, a table, and a portable kitchen with an induction cooktop and refrigerator. It is currently available in South Korea, with European sales planned.

Kia has introduced the PV5, an electric van designed from the outset as a platform for camper conversions. The vehicle is offered with two battery options (51.5 kWh and 71.2 kWh), providing a range of up to 256 miles. Kia is working with specialist firms to offer conversion kits for camping use.

A fire broke out at a campsite on Ganghwa Island in Incheon. One caravan was completely destroyed, but there were no casualties. Firefighters contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading.
