Palo Alto seeks regional solution for RV parking enforcement

Motorhome and travel trailer manufacturers are dealing with uncertainty due to changes in tariffs on imported components. A U.S. Supreme Court decision has ended temporary exemptions, which may impact supply chains and production costs.

Dealership group RV Station is expanding its Texas market presence by adding Tiffin motorhomes to its inventory. The network of nine locations across Texas and Southern Oklahoma aims to address a market gap by offering an educational sales approach over high-pressure tactics. Texas ranks third in U.S. RV spending with an annual market of approximately $1.8 billion.

Travel Wisconsin has highlighted five state parks with designated RV campgrounds. The list includes Lake Wissota, Harrington Beach, High Cliff, Amnicon Falls, and Wyalusing state parks, which offer sites with various hookups and access to water bodies and hiking trails.

Palo Alto has banned public parking of detached trailers and prohibited renting out RVs for long-term housing on city streets. The policy targets landlords, not residents, and is paired with plans for interim housing by early 2026. With a median home price of $3.5 million, vehicle living has become a last resort for some, though it lacks basic amenities.

The A Place to Call Home RV Park has opened in the Bastrop, Texas area. The park features 50- to 80-foot sites with utility hookups, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, a dog park, and a fishing pond. Rates start at $35 per night, with weekly and monthly options available.

Thor Industries, the world's largest RV manufacturer, announced a restructuring of its North American operations. The company will form two operating groups, consolidating its major motorhome and travel trailer brands, including Jayco, Tiffin, Thor Motor Coach, and Keystone, to enhance efficiency and synergy. The Airstream and KZ brands will continue to operate independently.
