Couple from Frümsen enthusiastic about tiny house living

TCS is creating a replacement for the closed Gampelen campsite in the Three-Lakes Region. The La Tène site will feature 107 pitches for motorhomes and caravans, plus 32 glamping cabins. By 2027, TCS aims to open around 400 new pitches across three locations.

The authorities in Bern plan to revoke blue zone parking permits for motorhome owners and individuals with access to private parking spaces starting in 2027. The new regulations, under public consultation until April 30, aim to shift vehicles from public to private parking areas. Enforcement will be carried out by the police.

The city of Bern has proposed new regulations for resident parking permits. Owners of motorhomes and caravans will no longer be eligible for such permits. Furthermore, permits will be denied to residents who have a private parking space.

Residents of the Swiss municipality of Frümsen have been living in a tiny house measuring 7 by 2.5 meters for more than two years. They report that this lifestyle does not feel constricting to them.

A temporary facility for motorhome travelers is planned on the Platztor site in St. Gallen. An association is setting up three parking spaces as interim use before construction work begins in 2029. The project is considered a test initiative.

The annual Swiss vignette price for 2026 remains unchanged at 44.50 euros. It is mandatory for vehicles and trailers up to 3.5 tons on motorways, while heavier motorhomes are subject to a separate flat-rate heavy vehicle charge.
