Families who set up caravans for habitation on farmland in West Sussex are appealing an enforcement notice to remove them. Horsham District Council states the land use was changed without planning permission. A public inquiry into the appeals is scheduled to start on March 17.

A caravan owner has opted for a permanent pitch for the new season. The caravan is sited at a campsite in Ripon, an hour's drive from home, enabling more frequent use. The site is within walking distance of the town and has a daily bus service.

Authorities in Keswick, Lake District, are formulating a strategy to address parking and sanitation issues caused by camper van and motorhome owners. Vehicles are occupying residential streets and daytime parking areas overnight, with reports of improper waste disposal. The town council is working with Cumberland Council to identify sites for designated overnight parking areas (aires) and improve enforcement.

A ban on overnight motorhome parking on parts of the North Yorkshire coast, introduced in 2024, may be reconsidered. Over 3,000 respondents, most of whom are motorhome owners, objected to the restrictions in a council consultation. A final decision on the scheme, which expires in May, will be made in April.

Actor Danny Dyer and his daughter Dani have invested in a caravan park on the Isle of Sheppey for a new TV series. The show, 'The Dyers’ Caravan Park', will launch on February 24 on Sky and NOW. The project aims to challenge the traditionally mocked image of caravanning in British popular culture.

UK-based Barefoot Caravans has updated the Bothy camper trailer. By removing the washroom, the weight is reduced to approximately 1,874 lbs, making it compatible with smaller ICE vehicles and electric cars. The fiberglass body comes with a 10-year warranty, and the interior can sleep up to three people.
