A 20-year-old German student converted an old VW Bulli into an electric camper van with solar panels on the roof. He drove it 3,000 km to Croatia, partly on free solar power. On a sunny day, the van can travel about 150 km solely on solar energy.

Motorhome destroyed by fire in Krummhörn, spread to house prevented

A motorhome parked next to a residential house burned out completely in the Visquard district in the early hours of Sunday. Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to the building, although the intense heat caused damage to the roof and a window. A gas cylinder inside the vehicle had already vented its contents by the time crews arrived.
