City motorhome campsite opens in Kempten

A 20-year-old German student converted an old VW Bulli into an electric camper van with solar panels on the roof. He drove it 3,000 km to Croatia, partly on free solar power. On a sunny day, the van can travel about 150 km solely on solar energy.

Residents in Kiel are increasingly frustrated by motorhomes and caravans blocking parking spaces for months. Motorhomes can park indefinitely if they follow traffic regulations. Caravans are limited to a maximum of two weeks in one spot, with violations incurring a 20-euro fine.

The vehicle features a pop-up roof with an integrated double bed, a modular kitchen, and transforming rear seats.
