Fire destroys new motorhome in Ulm, damage around 70,000 euros

A year-round motorhome campsite is operating in the city of Kempten in the Allgäu region. The site with 38 pitches offers electricity, water, a sanitary block, and waste disposal. The daily fee is 18 euros, with a maximum stay of 5 days.

A 20-year-old German student converted an old VW Bulli into an electric camper van with solar panels on the roof. He drove it 3,000 km to Croatia, partly on free solar power. On a sunny day, the van can travel about 150 km solely on solar energy.

The vehicle features a pop-up roof with an integrated double bed, a modular kitchen, and transforming rear seats. The conversion is presented as a modern alternative in a segment long dominated by a single reference model.
